Someone made a grim joke after a Ukrainian umpire gave a yellow card to a player for refusing to stop speaking Russian:

Speaking Russian yellow card, speaking Palestinian starved to death.

Hate to bust your balloon bud, I said, but there’s no such thing as speaking Palestinian — they speak Arabic 😁

Someone else got upset about it and mentioned that Spanish should be called Castellano but everyone know what it means, asked me to leave their balloon alone, and asked if I speak "American".

To which I said:

Please calm down, I’m merely telling you what Palestinians & Arabic speakers would say — their language is called Arabic. It’s like Western reporters calling the people of Afghanistan "Afghanis" (the currency) instead of "Afghans" (the correct term). I’m not from America.

Have to admit: seeing this is like watching liberal Americans whine about helping Ukraine while not even being able to point out where Ukraine is on a map — now it’s wannabe antiwar Westerners lecturing the world about the moral virtues of helping Palestine while not even being able to name the language that Palestinians actually speak. It seems Western education is sadly in decline.

I’ll tell you one more thing: the rest of the world is tired of being lectured to by hysterical self-righteous Westerners who know close to nothing about the countries they claim to support. Westerners fancy themselves as saviors for countries they know next to nothing about. The rest of us can handle ourselves, thank you very much.

One of my teachers who has both Russian/Ukrainian background used to ask people in the West who supported Ukraine: can you name 5 facts about Ukraine? They couldn’t do it! Not even 5 basic facts about the country.

These Westerners going hysterical about Palestine are almost the same — can’t even name the language that Palestinians speak, how sad is that.
