Israel can’t fight all the groups/places at the same time so has ceasefire agreements in one or two areas so they can concentrate on another area. The ceasefires are to help them rest and recuperate, reconstitute units that have suffered, resupply weapons and ammunition and generally use the ceasefires to gain advantages. Israels sole mission is to remove all non Jews from Palestine/Israel whether they are buried or forced into refugee camps across a border.
This is a familiar situation if you followed the Minsk agreements.
